My New Friend Kate

Last week at Viticcio I met a girl named Kate from Seattle. Camilla and I had fun with her. Here’s a picture of Camilla, Kate and I having lunch together in our apartment.

Kate was 8 when I met her. Her birthday is July 2 which is three days before mine. Mine is July 5 which was yesterday and I didn’t enjoy it because I had a horrible ear ache. Read my blog entry My Horrible Birthday.

Kate had a birthday party with cake at 8:30 pm. It was fun. Then Camilla came and gave Kate two little bouncy balls. I gave her some presents in the morning. This is a picture of Kate and I at the party.

I really liked Kate but she drove me batty because she always said—I’m a power ranger, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, gormiti, dragon slayer and at the same time I’m a unicorn. She said it in a very high voice.

I hope I see her again.
See ya..

My Horrible Tenth Birthday

Yesterday was a horrible day even though it was my birthday when I turned 10—double digits. We left Fattoria Viticcio and went to Lake Garda but I haven’t even seen the lake yet. It was horrible because I had an ear ache and we didn’t know what was wrong with it. We just knew my ear was hurting and then later when we went to dinner, by ear hurt so bad that I was crying. Our really nice waitress offered to take us to a farmicia that was open because the one that was near where we are staying was closed. I couldn’t eat my ear was so bad.

After dinner I had to go to the hospital’s emergency room which in Italian is called “pronto soccorso.” There was really nice doctor who looked in my ear and said that I had an infection from swimming too much. He said we needed to go to a farmicia in Lonato that was open 24 hours a day. If we didn’t have a GPS it would have taken forever to get the hospital and to the farmicia. Lonato was several kilometers away—about 10. We had to get ear drops and pain pills; they start working right away.

But the good part of the day was I got a card from my Uncle Jeff with €13 inside and I got a phone call from my Uncle Dan and Aunt Glennis wishing me a happy birthday. They called all the way from Auburn, California.

When we got home from the hospital and the farmicia, my grandma put my ear drops in and then I went to sleep. By the time I got to sleep, it was after eleven o’clock.

Gotta go, bye……P.S. Fred says ‘hi.”

Valentina's a Valentine

Last night I went to dinner with Valentina, my very special friend. She's very nice and pretty, too. Her mom cooked the dinner. It was really good. We had: french fries, fried chicken, fried zucchini flowers (my all time favorite) and bruschetta.

And recently she got a new dog and she named it Diana. She's so small and cute but she just had to get flea bites the day I came.

Before we went to eat, Valentina took me to Snoopy's to get seven gormiti. Those are little alien type action figure things. I don't know what they are actually. Since we bought all the packs that were in the box, I got to take the box home.

After Snoopy we went to a book store in the piazza and I got a Geronimo Stilton book and a stuffed animal for my birthday presents. Valentina's really good to me. She was my Italian tutor when I lived here in Italy. Nobody can replace her.

This is Valentina and me.

Finally we went to get gelato. I got After Eight but I couldn't finish it all because it kept melting.

See you later today when I write about my new friend, Kate.

Ti Amo, Valentina

Super Animal Country

Yesterday my grandparents and I went to a place I call The Super Animal Country but it is really called Parco Naturale di Cavriglia. It had a lot of cool animals and there were llamas on the loose. They had chickens there and after a while they went crazy and I don't know why. They had parrots and there were some very beautiful ones. There was a pheasant.

We also saw a horse as you can see on the slide show--A Touch of the Wild West. He had a lot of some kind of fly that sucks blood from animals and people. It looks more like a bee than a fly.

When we got to a certain point of the park we saw monkeys, ostriches and cashmere goats.

We had a hard time getting into our car and so we had to take this llama home. I named him Fred. Ahh--stop kicking me, Fred.

On the way back, there was one of those weird flies in the back with me. I got so freaked out. My grandpa stopped the car and I ran out and screamed so Fred squashed him.

Well, gotta go play with Camilla. Bye.

Medieval Combat

Yesterday we went to a place called Castello Meleto and there they had really cool medieval hand-to-hand combat and also swords.

Here's the staging area. It's where these guys get ready to do mortal combat.

Here's a movie of the mortal combat.

During the second combat which was with swords, when one guy did a somersault to dodge a slice, he made a tourist fall down. Everybody laughed.

Here's a picture of those two who were fighting.

I'm a knight now--I am Sir Casey

Sir Casey at practice.

I'm off to my first combat. And I shall knock over a tourist so stay out of my way. Ciao, Ciao.

The Birtrhday Party Begins

I had an awesome birthday. A lot of my friends came that were from my class here. Well, not all of them because some couldn't come. We had a lot of fun swimming and then we had a treasure hunt. My team should have won because we had three clues when Camilla's team only got one.

We got the goody bags for the treasure. They had things called Tech Decks, Skittles or candy made by Jolly Ranchers, bookmarks and bracelets. For the girls they had notebooks and pens instead of tech decks. We brought these things from home. The boys didn't know how to use the tech decks so I had to teach them. One girl really liked the tech decks and so I gave her one.

This is Camilla and Me Filling the Goody Bags

Last year here on my birthday it was raining but this year it was not. It was hot!! Here's a slide show of my birthday party.

It was also Camilla's birthday party, too. She waited for me to get here so that she could have her party when I was here so that I wouldn't miss it. I really liked that she waited. That made it better even though it made it a little confusing not mixing up the presents. Everyone wanted me to open their present first. They all sang Happy Birthday in English. The English teacher taught them.

After the party, Camilla slept over at my house in the top bunk and I was on the bottom.

Gotta go,
Bye

I’m Back to Italy!!

Hi Everybody, I’m Back to Italy

I’m having so much fun here. When I got to the airport when we got here, I thought Camilla would be at home waiting for me. But she was at the airport with Snoopy. Here’s a picture of Snoopy and us. Isn’t that cute?

Two days after we got back, guess what? Do you know what? Tommy slept over!! That was fun (even though I barely got any sleep.) Tommy, Camilla and I had a lot of fun swimming.

We also had a flexibility contest. Camilla won. We went to dinner that night at Il Portico. We went with Valentina and Riccardo.

After Tommy left, Camilla and I decided to do the tent in my room like we used to do. This time we used towels. When we’re in the tent we tell stories, watch movies and play with our pelux (stuffed animals.)

It’s really good to be with my friends. My birthday party is tomorrow and a lot of my friends from school and some new friends that I met will be here.

Camilla got new roller blades but she never wants to use them. I like using mine. I brought them with me so that I could do them with Camilla but she just doesn’t want to. She thinks it’s sort of boring. Here’s me rollerblading last night.

I am so glad to be in Tuscany with all the pretty views and beautiful sights and cute animals. It’s really rainy here—just kidding, it’s super hot. Think I’ll go in the pool.

See ya,

I Passed My Karate Test

Last Friday I had a karate test and I passed it. Now I'm a fourth section and I'm in the advanced lessons.

I am good at my kung fu and kicks and hand attacks. My weakest area is weapons sparring.

Here's a picture of me getting my belt.

This is a picture of me with my new belt on.

I'm going to show my instructor in Italy what I learned here. His name is Michele. In Italy I'm going to get special lessons.

See you when I'm in Italy.

Three more sleeps.

Disney Land

Yesterday I went to Disneyland. I had so much fun. I went with my Uncle Jeff and his friends, Brian and Anna and their son Eric. Eric's only one year old.

The first thing we did was going to the souvenir store because Anna's aunt was there and she could get us discounts. But by the time I decided what I wanted, she had already left.

So then Brian, Uncle Jeff and I got in line for Space Mountain. It took about an hour to get on the ride cuz the line was so long. When we got on it and the ride started my eyes were wide open for the whole ride. After I wanted to go on it again but the line was even longer by then.

My favorite thing there was probably Splash Mountain even though I got freezing cold because it was 7:15 at night. Then we went to Toon Town after that. We went on Roger Rabbit. You went on cars that spinned, spinned and spinned around.

Altogther we were gone for 16 hours. Now that's a long time. Today I'm tired. Snore, snore, snore--did I miss anything?

Check out my slide show.

Oh and by the way, I only have 1 week and 2 days which is 9 days before we leave.

Well, see ya'll soon.
