I Sent My Letter to President-Elect Obama

Yesterday we sent my letter to President-Elect Obama--My Hero. You can see it down here below. I also put a copy of the blogs about him in the envelope.

Can you pray that it will get to him. If it gets to him, I'm hoping that he'll invite me to the White House and that I'll get to meet him and the new puppy that he's going to get for his girls. (I love dogs!)

I pray for Barack Obama every day that he'll be safe.

If I were the one in there, you would certainly come over to my new house.

I know he'll be very busy getting ready to be President, but I'll say a prayer that someone on his staff will see your letter and show it to him! Good luck!

Well done Casey!
I really think you are lucky at such an exciting time in the history of the World to be going to Washington, D.C.
I sincerely hope that you get to meet President - elect Obama some day.
Way to go, young man!

That is a great letter Casey. Whether or not you get to meet President-Elect Obama you will have a wonderful time in Washington.

In 1953 I was about the same age as you are now (yes, that long ago!). That was the year Queen Elizabeth 11 was crowned, and since we lived in London we went to see the Coronation procession. I still have very fond memories of that very special day. Of course for a young girl to see a princess riding in a gold carriage was magical.

I don't think I was as aware of the significance of that occasion as you are of the coming inauguration. Your background knowledge will increase the magnitude of what will be an amazing experience.

What fun you are going to have.

Great letter, Casey. Congratulations for getting it done and sent.

As Barb said, Obama is going to be very busy between now and the inauguration, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will bring your great letter to his attention and you will get a response.

Casey, GREAT letter! I really like it. Sorry I haven't commented before, I was on a itsy bitsy teeny weeny three day vacation to New York! It was fun - but cold. DC can be cold so be prepared - but I think NYC is colder because of the tall buildings creating wind tunnels.

Hi KC,
I would like to recommend a book to you...called The Root Cellar by Janet Lunn.
One of the characters travels back in time and learns a bit about American History.
They end up going to Washington, D.C.

Thanks for commenting everyone and thanks for the compliments. Thank you Chiro, I'll see if our Benjamin Library has that book.

I'll let you know if I get to go to the inauguration.

See ya, KZ

Hi Casey! Great letter to our new President-elect, and I bet you will hear back from him, although it may take a while....he sure has a lot to do as soon as he takes office.

I have a new kitty named Todd, and will try to send you a picture soon. If you go to my Facebook page, I have a bunch of pix of him. My other yellow cat (remember Lemon?) died this summer, and I was very sad. But Todd is so cute and lively that it helps me not miss Lemon quite so much.

I am praying for Obama too. I will be looking for you on TV when I watch the inauguration, and I am really looking forward to hearing your impressions and seeing your pictures from that day!!!
